Income Tax Return Filing in Delhi NCR

ITRs for Delhi traders, shop owners, salaried employees, landlords and professionals, with notice support

ITR Filing for Delhi NCR Taxpayers

Delhi's taxpayers include lakhs of traders and shop owners in markets like Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar, salaried employees across government, PSUs and corporates, landlords with rental income, and professionals such as doctors, lawyers and consultants. Many of them receive mismatch notices simply because AIS shows income or transactions that their return does not.

CompanyFX reconciles every source of income with AIS and Form 26AS before filing, picks the right ITR form and tax regime, and handles any notice that follows.

Returns We Handle

Frequently Asked Questions

I run a shop in Delhi. Do I need to maintain full books for my ITR?

Not necessarily. Traders and small businesses with turnover up to ₹2 crore (₹3 crore if cash receipts are no more than 5%) can opt for presumptive taxation under Section 44AD and declare 6% of digital receipts and 8% of cash receipts as profit, using ITR-4. You must still keep basic records, and once you opt out you cannot return for five years.

How much HRA can I claim for rent paid in Delhi?

Under the old regime, Delhi is a metro city, so the HRA exemption is the lowest of: actual HRA received, rent paid minus 10% of salary, and 50% of basic salary plus DA. If annual rent exceeds ₹1 lakh, the landlord's PAN is needed. HRA exemption is not available under the new regime.

I received a notice saying my income does not match AIS. What now?

This usually happens when interest, dividends, share sales or high-value transactions reported in AIS are missing from the return. We compare the return with AIS, file a feedback response where the AIS data is wrong, or file an updated or revised return where income was left out.

Do I need to go to the income tax office at ITO or Civic Centre?

Usually not. Most notices and assessments are now handled through the faceless system on the e-filing portal, and we file responses online for you.

I live in Noida or Gurugram. Can you file my return?

Yes. Income tax is a central tax and the process is the same anywhere in NCR. We file returns for clients across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad.

What happens if I miss the 31 July due date?

You can still file a belated return up to 31 December of the assessment year, with a late fee of up to ₹5,000 (₹1,000 if total income is up to ₹5 lakh) plus interest on unpaid tax. Losses, except house property loss, cannot be carried forward in a belated return.
